About the Author
Loretta Edelen has been involved in education for over 34 years in research and outreach at the local community college. Additionally, she actively worked as PTA president and was elected to the Austin School Board where she served two terms (1994- 2002). In addition to her outreach work, Edelen established the Foster Care Alumni program at a central Texas community college 10 years ago. Edelen led the nationally recognized program for 10 years. This Foster Care Alumni program was created to assist the under-served in achieving their higher education goals.
